Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Program


What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed by Dr. Marsha Linehan to treat a broad range of complicated symptoms and concerns. DBT focuses on teaching specific skills to help patients regulate their emotions, communicate more effectively with others, handle distressing experiences and be more mindful of their thoughts, feelings and environment. DBT is useful in treating a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, substance abuse, eating disorders and family conflict.

About the DBT Program

At this time, we offer virtually-held DBT Skills Training Groups led by Grace Lawton, LCSW and Dr. Yanina Gonzales Blanchard PsyD. Due to the nature of DBT therapy, you must be in individual therapy in order to join the group. Before joining a DBT Skills Group, you must first complete an initial consultation with the clinician leading the preferred group. These groups are self-paid.

DBT Skills Groups

Adult DBT Skills Group (led by Grace Lawton, LICSW)

  • Group starting Wednesday, August 7, 2024

  • Hosted virtually via Zoom Wednesdays, 5:45PM - 7:00PM EST

  • Reviews all four DBT skills modules:  Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness

  • Each group session includes: 

    • Mindfulness practice

    • Check-In

    • Homework Review

    • DBT Skills Teaching

  • Intake sessions are included and will take place prior to the group’s start

  • Group is self-pay; payment plan and out-of-network benefit options are available

  • We'll have 10 members maximum per group

Requirements:

  • Must be 18+ years old

  • Complete an individual intake before the start day of the group

  • Must be participating in ongoing individual therapy
