Testing Services

We offer psychological and cognitive testing services for individuals currently in treatment or those looking to start treatment. A comprehensive assessment can assist with diagnostic clarity and reveal certain learning styles, personality tendencies, and interpersonal patterns that will inform specific treatment recommendations. The assessment consists of an interview as well as a series of tests that range from paper-and-pencil multiple-choice questionnaires to brief, performance-based tasks that will feel like solving puzzles.

The following are examples of referrals that our particular type of psychological and cognitive testing can assist with:

  1. Diagnostic clarity

  2. I am looking to start therapy and/or psychiatric medication. What types of treatment would be most helpful?

  3. The current therapy or medication regimen is not resulting in significant improvement. What other types of treatment may be more helpful?

  4. The individual has been diagnosed with multiple disorders. What disorder or set of symptoms should be the primary target of treatment?

  5. I notice that I have a lot of conflict in my relationships with others. What personality traits or patterns of interacting with others may be contributing to this conflict?

  6. I am having difficulties with attention and memory at work. Why might this be happening and what are some strategies that I could try to improve my overall cognitive functioning?

In contrast, our testing cannot address the following:

  1. Causes of significant cognitive impairment (e.g., dementia, TBI, etc.)

  2. Diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorders

  3. Diagnosing Learning Disabilities

  4. Specific letters requesting academic accommodations

  5. Forensic evaluations (e.g., custody, psychological damages, etc.)

After the testing is completed, a report will be written and can be sent to any current treatment providers with permission. Feedback sessions are also available to review the results together and answer any questions."
